Branding irons

Thermic branding

Hot compression is the oldest branding way used for branding live-stock already in ancient times in this way. Burning the owner's brand in the animal skin the distinction sing (from other farmers` herd) is made. Metal or brass cliché makes the picture on the branding iron on which mirror image is formed by treating with mordant/pickling or etching. To burn in the cliché/branding dies high temperature and comparingly/comparative low pressure are used. Such ways of printing as branding/ hot compression, relief compression, thermal transfer of digital foil compression are known. Pictures transfer takes place under the influence of temperature and compression that misshapes/deforms the processing material. By using high temperature colour of material can be changed.

Hot compression

Hot compression is the method of getting relief on the material that keeps/retains the shape under the influence of heat and pressure e.g. on skin or leather, imitation leather, cloth, clay, plastic materials.

Relief compression

Relief compression makes it possible to press relief on materials that retain deformation well, mainly paper. To make relief on paper one or two-sided cliché is made. The material is put between both cliché objects and relief is gained/received by the process of pressing.
